That is the question that millions of us will be asking ourselves this first week of 2010. The hackneyed headlines in all the mags & TV shows scream 'New Year - New You' luring us to drop pounds (and usually dollars) with the promise of the diet to end all diets. The most popular diet plan of the New Year must be the 'Detox' whether its fruits, juices, pill poppin' or just plain starving, is it worth it? As one who has F-planned, South Beached & Atkinsed myself over the years; heck, I even tried the black market copy of a diet of my Mum's years ago - a dog eared sheet of paper that was passed under the cover of darkness among the neighbors with a magical bacon, egg & tomato eating plan - undoubtedly a precursor to Atkins - I'll try anything once.
Strawberries always abundant in FL

Ok Ok, I'm going a little overboard with the organic ground turkey breast; I accept that, however, it is great stuff. A little goes a long way and its a low fat, high protein way to feed your family 'regular' dishes without them questioning you about 'what's different'?
Even the bun, salad & tomatoes are organic!

This is such a simple notion. Buying quality ingredients, cooking them simply and presenting them in a creative and complimentary way. A classic like Italian Sausage & Peppers is no exception.

Many of you out there are on restricted diets. Whether you're regime is low fat, low calorie, gluten free or maybe its just that, like me, your fat jeans are suffering a little more overspill than usual then a few subtle changes to your favorite meals could be just what the diet doctor ordered.

Poor old Jessica Simpson, the girl dared to nosh a little over the holidays and look what happens, the knives of the world's Press are out and aimed firmly at her back fat. All jesting and pie eating jokes aside, she's far from fat. She's probably not even technically overweight for her height. She just looks NORMAL!! What's not normal are the 95lb figures sported by Hollywood's actressy types. I plugged my statistics into a 'find your ideal weight' site and it gave me a range of 107-141lbs. I can tell you I didn't even reach 141 when I was 9 months pregnant yet I've only been 107 a few times and it was generally a reached via misery of some sort. It shows you that medical data makes allowances for us - unfortunately society is not so forgiving. Find where you're happy, where you feel good and stick with it! In that vein, whether you're a Jessica Simpson or a Jessica Fletcher, here's your healthy pick of the week!
Do you think her bum looks big in this?

'Side' Items are a toughie on a low carb plan. Your heart says 'mashed potatoes' but your head says, 'one cup of salad vegetables'. Here's a cook ahead, flavorsome side that you can pair with any grilled meat, chicken or fish.
