It's just 11 days until the Town Center at Abacoa becomes engulfed in a heady fog of char-grilling Joseph's sausage & peppers and Danny DeVito's Limoncello. Si Signor, its time for the fantastic Feast of Little Italy, that two and a half day weekend in November when Abacoa gives way to Italia.
Aside from the tantalizing food, this year there is an amazing line up of artists performing including the 'Legends of Doo Wop' who are closing the show on Sunday 8th November at 6pm. I just had my Dad in town for 6 weeks and he had my Sirius Radio tuned to 50's on 5 and you know what? It was fantastic. What a great era for music - all ages find themselves singing along and playing backup band. If you fancy yourself as a Ronette, a Chiffon or maybe a Jordanaire then be sure to hang out long enough to catch Tommy Mara and the Legends of Doo Wop perform on Sunday.
Whilst the music is all important; to me the food is top of the list. I know the Legends of Doo Wop are going to rock Abacoa (or should that be rockabilly?) but come on, what does Tommy Mara (aka the Meatloaf of Doo Wop) have in his fridge?!
